Healthy Pad Thai Sauce Recipe

Made without any added sugar, this Asian vinaigrette-style dressing is the perfect healthy Pad Thai sauce recipe. All you have to do to make this homemade Pad Thai sauce is measure, blend, and serve — it doesn’t get easier than that! Since it keeps in the fridge for weeks, experiment with adding our Thai sauce recipe to a variety of dishes, like salads, stir-fried vegetables, or marinating and baking salmon or chicken in it.

Serves 6–8 

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp shallots or onion
  • 1 tbsp garlic
  • ½ cup tamarind paste (seeds removed)
  • 2 tsp stevia
  • ½ cup fish sauce
  • ⅙ cup oyster sauce
  • 3 tbsp sambal chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 3.5 tbsp water

Directions

  1. Soak tamarind in ¼ cup of hot water for 10 minutes then rub with fingers to remove the flesh from the seeds. Strain through a mesh strainer and discard the seeds.
  2. Peel onions and garlic.
  3. Measure all ingredients in a blender.
  4. Blend on high for 30 seconds.
