These 5 Ingredient Clean Energy Bites are vegetarian, vegan, sugar-free, and made with enough healthy fats and protein to keep you, or your kids, satisfied for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, or dessert time. The ingredient list is short and sweet, yet super healthy with antioxidant rich cocoa, heart-healthy walnuts, and naturally sweet dates. Dates also offer many health benefits i.e. anti-inflammation, respiratory and digestive health, etc. as they are rich with vital nutrients including magnesium, potassium, and fiber. Store these no-bake energy bites in your gym bag for a pre- or post-workout energy boost, and keep them on hand in an airtight container for an afternoon snack that little fingers can grab too.
5 Ingredient Clean Energy Bites Recipe
Makes about 12-20 bites
Ingredients
- 1 cup dates
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Optional:
- sunflower seeds
- pistachios
- almonds
- almond butter
- raw cacao powder
- shredded coconut flakes
Directions
- Place dates in a medium bowl and cover with warm water. Let soak for 5-10 minutes to soften then drain.
- Add drained dates and all remaining ingredients into a food processor and pulse for several minutes until mixture turns into the consistency of sand. Remove blade from the unit.
- Form energy balls by pressing mixture into a small stainless steel scoop then roll in between your palms to form evenly sized bites.
- Enjoy the bites at room temperature or let chill for 30 minutes before eating.
